Top Eating and Feeding Disorder Treatment Centers in Alaska

The Alaska Eating Disorders Alliance estimated that 1 in 9 residents (over 65,000 people) will develop an eating disorder in their lifetime. The state has seen an especially sharp rise in emergency department visits for disordered eating among adolescents and young adults, with admissions for 15–24-year-olds climbing from 4.9 to 7.0 per 10,000 visits between 2019 and 2021. The state’s vast distances and lack of in-state residential programs mean many must travel for care, but telehealth follow-up and community partnerships are expanding access to evidence-based eating disorder treatment.

10 Top Alaska Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Centers

PsyWeb evaluated eating disorder programs in Alaska to identify top treatment options. Although the state didn’t have inpatient or residential treatment programs specifically for eating disorders in 2025, resources are available, including individual clinicians who specialize in various eating disorders. Virtual care and local support groups are other options, as well as out-of-state treatment centers.
