Multipolar neurons range in size from 4 æM ( granule cells of cerebellum ) to 150 æM ( motor neurons of ventral horn of spinal cord ) in the human. They are even larger in some invertebrates, facilitating elegant neurophysiologic studies with intracellular electrodes.
