Cymbalta / Yentreve ( duloxetine hydrochloride )

Cymbalta / Yentreve has been approved by the FDA for use in the treatment of major depression. Patients on antidepressants and their families or caregivers should watch for worsening depression symptoms, unusual changes in behavior, and thoughts of suicide, as well as for anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, difficulty sleeping, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, restlessness, or extreme hyperactivity. Call the doctor if you have thoughts of suicide or if any of these symptoms are severe or occur suddenly. Be especially observant at the beginning of antidepressant treatment or whenever there is a change in dose.

Cymbalta / Yentreve addresses both the emotional and physical symptoms of depression. In clinical studies, many people began to show improvement in emotional and physical symptoms as early as one to four weeks. However, results vary from person to person. Give Cymbalta / Yentreve time to work. And don't stop taking it without talking to your doctor.

CLASS:Selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor ( SSNRI ).
Generic name:Duloxetine hydrochloride.

Cymbalta / Yentreve is not recommended for those under 18.


20 mg, 30 mg, and 60 mg.

Dosages: Actual dosage must be determined by a physician.

Start: 20mg daily.
Increases: 20mg as needed.
Maintenance: As low as possible in 24 hours.

Normal dosage: 60mg daily.

Problems with:
Liver Function: Inform your Doctor.
Kidney Function: Inform your Doctor.

Before taking: N/A
While taking: Your doctor may periodically check your blood pressure while you are taking Cymbalta.

Take With: with or without food.

Full Benefits In: One to four weeks.

Missed Dose(s): If within one hour take, if over an hour skip and then continue on your normal schedule. Never Take a Double Dose

If Stop Taking: Do not stop without consulting your physician and never abruptly.

Overdose: There is no specific antidote to Cymbalta / Yentreve. In case of acute overdose, treatment should consist of those general measures employed in the management of overdose with any drug.


You should NOT take Cymbalta / Yentreve ( duloxetine HCL ) if:

  • You are allergic to duloxetine hydrochloride or other ingredients in Cymbalta / Yentreve.
  • You currently or have recently taken monoamine oxidase inhibitor ( MAOI ).
  • You have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • You are taking Mellaril
